Director of External Relations
The Business-Higher Education Forum (BHEF) is seeking a Director of External Relations (Director) to lead BHEF’s membership and strategic communications activities with academic institutions, corporations, foundations, and other related organizations. The Director will report to the Chief Executive Officer and will be responsible for strengthening BHEF’s membership and developing communications strategy for universities, corporations, foundations and other organizations. The Director will work directly with the BHEF membership chair and the membership committee to develop and execute BHEF’s membership strategy.
The ideal candidate will bring: demonstrated success in working with senior executives to achieve strategic goals and shaping strategic communications, especially focused on senior executives and corporations, preferably in academia, business or the foundation/non-profit sector; strong writing, oral, and interpersonal skills; an understanding of institutions of higher education, foundations and corporations; and a record of success creating and implementing communications strategies.
A Master’s degree is preferred and at least five years of relevant senior management experience is required. BHEF is an Equal Opportunity Employer. The salary and benefit package are competitive.
