Summer 2008 Meeting
June 19-20, 2008
Four Season Georgetown
Washington, DC
Since the Winter 2008 Member Meeting in Miami, FL, BHEF has made significant progress in a number of areas. The Summer 2008 Meeting built on this progress, specifically in our College Readiness Initiative, and also examined two rapidly accelerating trends: the globalization of higher education and the globalization of scientific research.
This meeting also marked the transition in leadership for BHEF through Herb Allison’s departure from BHEF, where he has served as Chair for the past two year. David Skorton takes over as BHEF's chairman, and Bill Swanson has been elected to vice chairman. BHEF also celebrated the organization's 30th anniversary, showcased at the Open House on June 20.
