Creating Solutions: BHEF’s Initiatives to Strengthen Education to Enhance Competitiveness
BHEF addresses education issues fundamental to our nation's ability to compete globally. These include improving student achievement and readiness for success in college and work; and strengthening our national capacity in science, technology, engineering and math.
BHEF currently is pursuing two major initiatives creating solutions in these areas – one focused on college/work readiness, access and success, and a second promoting America's leadership in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

BHEF welcomed its members to Washington, DC for its summer meeting on June 24-25, 2010. Members heard from senior representatives of the Obama Administration on challenges and opportunities for education reform in upcoming reauthorization efforts and the challenges confronting long-term U.S. sustainability that demand strengthened STEM education.
