Throughout its history, BHEF has addressed a wide range of issues important to business and postsecondary institutions, such as achieving diversity on campus and in the work force, enhancing research collaborations, transforming teaching and learning models for the 21st century, embedding ethical behavior in U.S. institutions, responding to the crisis in mathematics and science education, and defining America's role in the world. BHEF welcomed its members to Washington, DC for its summer meeting on June 24-25, 2010. Members heard from senior representatives of the Obama Administration on challenges and opportunities for education reform in upcoming reauthorization efforts and the challenges confronting long-term U.S. sustainability that demand strengthened STEM education.
