Convening: Developing the Future New York City Workforce

Tuesday, May 13, 2014

Hosted by BHEF in collaboration with the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation.

Held at the New York Times Conference Center, this invitation-only workshop focused on the development of data science pathways in New York City which are aligned with employer needs.

Using the white paper, The National Higher Education and Workforce Initiative—Building Skilled Workforce Capacity in Emerging Fields, the select group of industry and higher education leaders discussed (1) the City’s workforce needs and available assets to address them; (2) the role of business-academic partnerships; and (3) the creation of a taskforce to guide the development of these pathways.
