BHEF Partner Roundtable: Higher Education as Regional Catalyst: Building Thriving Talent Ecosystems

Thursday, June 11, 2026

2-3pm EST

Higher education can be a powerful convener in any region, and the institutions that lean into that role are transforming what regional talent development can look like.

A growing number of colleges and universities are stepping up as anchors of regional talent ecosystems by building cross-sector partnerships, incubating scalable models, and aligning the long-term relationships between employers and learners that drive real economic opportunity. This roundtable brings together higher education and business leaders to explore what it takes to build, sustain, and scale that kind of impact.

Drawing on case studies from institutions already leading the way, we will examine:

  • Convening for impact: How institutions are building the cross-sector coalitions needed to align regional talent supply and demand
  • Incubating scalable models: Approaches for designing, testing, and growing initiatives that meet both learner and employer needs
  • Tools and resources: Practical frameworks, data sources, and partnership models institutions can put to work
